Pierangela Cristiani (University degree in Biology), has more than twenty years experiences, (researches, projects and teaching) in microbial corrosion, biofouling prevention, sanitization and biological risk assessment in industry. She is Project leader at RSE – Ricerca sul Sistema Energetico S.p.A., a total publicly-controlled Italian Research Company for Energy fields. Since September 2013, she is chairing the WP10 (Microbial Corrosion) of the European Federation of Corrosion. The development of microbial fuel cells and bio-electrochemical systems of energy interest are other research lines driven since 2008. Her research activities are conducted in collaboration with several universities, advising PhD students and Master Theses, and in the framework of European projects.
